There were four teams competing in the competition, including Rhyl FC Academy, Connah’s Quay Academy, Flint Town Academy and of course, The New Saints Academy.
First up for The New Saints was a game against the hosts. TNS beat them 2-0 thanks to goals from Ben Williams and Jack Vale.
Next up for the Oswestry based team was an intriguing contest with Gap Connah’s Quay. Once again The Saints won, Kian and Zac Davies scored both goals to give their side, 2-1 win.
The New Saints then faced Flint Town and drew 1-1 with Zac Davies scoring the only goal.
TNS were drawn against Gap Connah’s Quay in the Semi-Final. The match finished 0-0 and with no extra time it meant that The Saints went straight into a penalty shoot-out. Craig Edwards and his team held their nerve and came out on top, winning 8-7.
The final pitted TNS against Flint Town and despite Jack Vale scoring first, Flint equalised late on, to send the match to penalties.
The young Saints triumphed in the shoot-out and were crowned the Champions.
