The New Saints Under 16’s beat Flint Town 4-2 thanks to a goal from Nash Mwamuka and a wonderful hat-trick from Lewis Evans.

A physical Flint side raced into a two goal lead on a difficult pitch but moments before half time, Evans converted his first.

TNS came out fighting in the second half and Mwamuka calmly scored a penalty to level the match.

Soon after Evans fired an unstoppable half volley into the top corner to complete his brace and give his side the lead for the first time in the match.

The fantastic Evans then completed a brilliant hat-trick after he poked in from close range.

Steve Benyon was happy with his team and said, ‘The boys showed great character to come back from two goals behind. The fitness and quality showed in the second half and it was a very difficult place to come and get a result. Lewis Evans was fantastic.’

The winning team consisted of Antoni Sarnowski, Matt Perry, Ryan Tyrer, Matt Bainbridge, Ross Tyler, Harrison Millington, Nash Mwamuka, Joe Walsh, Lewis Evans, Tom Birch and George Minshall.

On the bench were Cal Graybrook, Sam Gostage, Greg Evans, Jack Bates, Leighton Tierney and Lee Killen.

The New Saints Under 14’s slipped to a 5-2 defeat against Flint yesterday.

The home side raced into a three goal lead and despite TNS coming out strongly in the second half, Flint added another two more goals.

Zak Dobie and Rob Reynolds pulled goals back but Flint held on to the win.

Steve Monk was proud of his team and said, ‘We just couldn’t get used to the conditions of the pitch today. It didn’t suit our passing game which the lads have been working hard on in training. We are disappointed with the result but the lads never let their heads drop and they tried to play football throughout.’

The TNS team was Cai Hilditch-Roberts, Aron Jones, Lucas Robert, Jamie Monk, Rhys Darlow, Lewys Turner, Zak Dobie, James Lloyd, Scott Williams, Ricky Williams and Ross Hardy.

On the bench were Matt Williams, Billy Minshal, Ifan Roberts, Taps Kamutasa, Sam Postle and Rob Reynolds.

The TNS Under 12’s drew two all with Flint after a brace from Tai Jones.

Jones gave his side the lead after the break but soon after, Flint scored twice. With five minutes left, Flint who were trying to hold on eventually conceded and it was Jones again who found the back of the net for the young Saints.

The squad was made up of Alex Clarke , Cameron James, Ryan McVeagh, Daniel Sumner, Daniel Davies, Isaac Dawson, Max Kulbida, Toby Roberts, Liam Davies, Thomas Roberts-Lyon, Tai Jones, Robert Johnson, Callum Evans, Mackenzie Wadeson and Owen Cartwright.

The TNS Under 9’s thrashed Brickfield Rangers 13-2 yesterday.

Goals from Jac Herbert, Adam Tunnadine, Adam Tirebuck, Josh Evans, Harry Owen, Thomas Potts, Charlie Cahill and finally Daniel Burnett, ensured a comprehensive victory for the young Saints.

Craig Edwards was happy with the win and said, ‘It was another home win for the young saints and what was pleasing was the attitude and desire shown by the TNS boys. They played some great football and knocked the ball around really well. Credit must go to Brickfield Rangers who applied themselves well and a special mention must go to their goalkeeper who made some great saves.’
