The New Saints beat Rhyl 3-0 on Friday evening and were supported by a number of special guests from Welshpool High School.
Over 70 enthusiastic children were at Park Hall stadium to support Craig Harrison’s side, as the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League champions, won yet another home League game.
The children bowled at The Venue, before eating dinner prior to the game. They then took their seats ahead of the match and at half time, were welcomed on to the pitch.
Whilst on the pitch, the children posed for a photograph with Ian Williams, Scott Ruscoe, Connell Rawlinson, Ryan Fraughan, Ryan Jones, Luke Douglas and Craig Edwards.
Julie Maguire who had arranged the trip was delighted with the night and said, ‘All of the kids really enjoyed it and it was probably the smoothest trip I’ve ever ran up to the Venue. I would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff and everyone involved with TNS. The organisation was brilliant and we are now all looking forward to another night at Park Hall.’
The Community Foundation Officer was also very pleased with how the School trip went and said, ‘It was pleasing to continue the successful link that we have with Welshpool High School. All of the young people that attended were a credit to the school and seemed to enjoy their time bowling with friends as well as the match. The children made lots of nice and it was great to hear the wonderful support. We hope to continue the relationship in the near future.’
The School were also given a signed TNS away kit to keep.
