TNS Ladies secure Stoke tie

In what was a great weekend for The New Saints first team, The New Saints Ladies added more joy for the Oswestry based side, by winning in the FA Cup.

The TNS Ladies team beat Nottingham side, Sandiacre Town Ladies on Sunday, to set up a mouth watering match against Stoke City.

Ollie Eden’s Saints got off to a dream start when Laura Morris gave her side the lead in the third minute. Sophie Edwards doubled the advantage five minutes after the break and four minutes later, Jamie Duggan made it three.

The impressive Duggan completed her brace shortly after as The New Saints Ladies secured a memorable win.

TNS will now play Stoke City Ladies in the second round of the FA Cup. The match has been scheduled for January the 12th, 2014.

Meanwhile, goals from Taylor James and Jamie Hands, ensured a 2-1 victory against Hartpury College, for Steve Evans’ Saints on Wednesday. The British Colleges League match was played at Park Hall stadium.
