The match is a repeat of the 2004/05 final, when TNS defeated the Old Gold at Stebonheath Park, courtesy of a solitary John Lawless goal.

The only player from the Town team that day to still be involved at the club is Neil Smothers, who is the assistant manager. Whilst in the Saints team that day, Mike Wilde, who is the Welsh Premier’s joint-top scorer this season started the match, as did Steve Evans and Scott Ruscoe who are both still on the Saints books, but currently on the long-term injured list.

The winners will book a spot in the last eight and a result is guaranteed on the day, with the possibility of extra-time and penalties
