Harrison delighted with performance

The New Saints got back to winning ways yesterday after beating Newtown by five goals to one and in doing so, returned to the summit of the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League.

Craig Harrison was delighted with both the result and the performance and the Director of Football said, ‘We played well and I was delighted with our style of play. We created a number of chances throughout the game and had them pinned back for large periods of the match. I was also really pleased by the fact that we had five different scorers. It is always a worry if you are relying on one player to score your goals and we have spoken about the issue this week . To be fair to Chris Seargeant, he has been chipping in with a few goals this season and just like Matty Williams, the goals they both scored rounded off their fantastic performances.’

Harrison added that, ‘If we play in the manner we did and pass the ball like we can, we will inevitably come out on top in games. Of course there will be occasions when things might get in the way but like I have said a number of times, when we are on it, we can take on anyone.’

The Saints will now travel to Bangor City on Saturday, searching for another win at The Book People Stadium. The match will kick off at 14:30pm.
