Harrison sees bright future

Ryan Edwards trained with his new TNS teammates for the first time today. Craig Harrison signed the young midfielder from Gap Connah’s Quay after watching the 19year old impress at Deeside and the Director of Football at The Saints said, ‘Ryan is a good footballer who will fit into the style we play. He can play in several positions, including centre midfield, out wide, centre forward, just behind the front man and he is a very good technical footballer. Having spoken to him he is very hungry and it is great to have him on board.’

Harrison added, ‘He has got a good pedigree and has a real desire to do well. I have also been very thoughtful about the age, about the enthusiasm, about the attitude and the know-how of being a professional footballer. We have signed a number of young players including Chris Jones, Kai Edwards, Ryan Fraughan and Sam Finley during my time here and it is great to bring in another youngster.’

The former Premier League defender was also full of praise for both Scott Ruscoe and Steve Evans, who are both working very hard at the TNS Academy, ‘We have got a lot of good young players at the club and that can be seen at our Academy. Scotty Ruscoe and Steve Evans are both working really hard and it is fantastic to see all of the promising players coming through. Ryan Kershaw has been doing magnificently well but with all the respect to Gap Connah’s Quay, it is harder for ‘Kersh’ to break through into our team, like Ryan Edwards had done at Deeside. With signings like Ryan Edwards and players like Ryan Kershaw coming through, the future has never been brighter.’
