Steve Evans’ New Saints Under 19’s beat Conwy Borough nine one thanks to goals from Ryan Kershaw, Liam Walker, Ollie Beaman, and hat-tricks from Jamie Hands and Taylor James.
The Saints had a dream start thanks to a third minute goal from the impressive Kershaw. The midfielder latched onto a loose ball before firing home from eight yards out.
A much improved Conwy side started to settle down and made life difficult for The Saints who were finding it difficult to break them down. However, with half an hour played, Hands scored his first of the game after good build up play down the left, slotting home from just inside the box.
Soon after it was three. After more great work down the left, James delicately finished with a cheeky back heel to ensure that his side went into the break leading by three goals to nil.
The rampant Saints added another six goals in the second half with both James and Hands completing their hat-tricks.
Beaman scored with a deft touch after another great cross from Rhys Cooper before Walker finished off the scoring after rounding the visiting goalkeeper and slotting home from close range.
The only sour note of the afternoon was the goal that TNS conceded but all in all it was a very good performance.
Manager Evans was delighted with his team and said, ‘It was another good performance but we were disappointed to conceded the goal in the manner in which we did. We need to ensure that our concentration levels last for the whole 90 minutes, so we must make sure we learn from it, as we have a lot of important games coming up.’
The TNS team was Greg Fletcher, Ryan Pryce, Adam Davies, Ollie Beaman, Jordan Wells, Ryan Kershaw, Rhys Cooper, Fisnik Hajdari, Taylor James ,Jamie Hands and Liam Walker.
On the bench were Ryan Edkins, James Jones, Mark Murch and Sam Prince.
