The New Saints Under 19’s beat Rhyl by five goals to two last night.
Steve Evans’ Saints started brightly again and again it was the impressive Ryan Kershaw who supplied a moment of magic when he curled a free kick into the top corner in only the second minute of the game.
Taylor James added a second on the counter following a Rhyl corner, before Rhyl pulled a goal back, through Tom Roberts.
Kershaw added his second after 37 minutes with an unstoppable bullet shot from the edge of the box.
Rhyl then scored two identical own goals after great delivery from Kershaw’s corner kicks.
The second half was a much more even affair and Roberts struck again to complete his brace and in the process made it five two to The Saints.
The match finished five two to TNS and Evans was delighted with his team once again, the former Wrexham defender said, ‘The performance was magnificent. It is one of the best performances of the season for me. We were brilliant in the first half and produced a professional performance in the second half to see the game out’.
