The New Saints striker Alex Darlington has potentially been ruled out for the rest of season after picking up a metatarsal injury.
The Wrexham born striker picked up the injury in his left foot during Saturday’s four one victory against Bangor City.
The common football injury was made famous by David Beckham prior to the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
‘Darlo’ has started 13 games and featured in a further eight games for the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League Champions this season and has scored an impressive ten goals for The Saints.
Craig Harrison was understandably disappointed to lose one of his influential players at a key stage of the season and said, ‘It is a blow to lose Alex and unfortunately he will be out of action for six to eight weeks.’
