Men are uniting at Park Hall Stadium to raise awareness of prostate Cancer with a mini, five aside World Cup football match of local businesses.
The event, on June 15th (Father’s Day), is being organised by Morgans of Oswestry and The New Saints Community Foundation.
A family fun day will be held around the five aside event at The Venue, with teams of up to seven players drawn from businesses in the area, playing group stages, quarter and semi finals before the final. The winners of the competition will be presented with the Soccerfest Charity Cup.
Martin Cap, owner of Morgans of Oswestry urged businesses to put forward a team and said, ‘We would like to invite local businesses to join us in helping to raise some much needed money for Prostate Cancer.’
Community Foundation Officer, Niall Broe said, ‘We are delighted to be part of an event that is for such a great cause. Hopefully the event will raise great awareness and give people knowledge of how to deal with issues around cancer. Ourselves and Morgans would like to see the event become an annual affair with the support increasing year after year. We would like to encourage people to attend the Park Hall stadium on Sunday the 15th of June to support the teams playing and take part in events suitable for all the family.’
