Tomorrow evening, The New Saints will take on SK Slovan Bratislava in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Second Qualifying Round.
The match will be played at the Corbett Sports Stadium and will kick off at 18:45pm.
The Slovaks will take a one goal lead into the match thanks to a 51st minute goal from former Ross County defender, Erik Cikos.
SK Slovan Bratislava are the most successful team in Slovakia, having won eight league titles.
Slovan Bratislava also became the first and so far only club in Slovakia as well as former Czechoslovakia to win one of the European cup competitions, the Cup Winners’ Cup when they defeated FC Barcelona in the final in Basel in 1969.
Nicknamed ‘Belasi’, the club are managed by the former Sparta Prague defender, Frantisek Straka.
Despite the success in their homeland, Slovan have never got further than the UEFA Champions League Third Qualifying Round and last season were knocked out in the Second Round after losing 4-2 on aggregate to Bulgarians, Ludogorets.
However, Craig Harrison is confident of getting a result and said, ‘We are going to give everything we have to ensure we get a positive result and I am very excited about the game. I must have watched the game on Tuesday at least six times and the more I watch it, the happier I am because we did so well in so many different areas. I am happy with 99% of it and I am confident we can put in a similar if not better performance tomorrow night.’
