The New Saints extended their lead at the top of Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League table after drawing with Newtown yesterday, a game in which Ryan Pryce made his League debut in.
The TNS youngster came on for Chris Marriott in the 77th minute and looked composed during his time on the pitch with Craig Harrison adding that, ‘Ryan has done fantastically well. He has done a job for us when Mazza came off and has defended very well. He is playing left back and he is right footed and he started at centre half which shows his versatility. He is a bright and intelligent lad and wants to learn. He works hard and hopefully he has a big future.’
The Saints have given a number of opportunities to their youngsters this season, notably in the Word Cup games and the TNS manager is delighted to give youth a chance.
Harrison, who broke through at an early age whilst at Middlesbrough confirmed that TNS are always looking to push players through the system and develop their skills, ‘At this club, we want to push players through and the likes of Ryan Kershaw, James Jones and Jordan Wells are all developing very well. Both Scott Quigley and Luke Douglas have come through the Academy and have done really well. It is great to be able to try and push players through the system and help their careers.’
