The New Saints’ Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League fixture against Newtown on Sunday 28th September attracted the largest attendance of the season so far.
The televised fixture was watched by 562 people at Park Hall Stadium, which ensured that it was the biggest gate of the season to date.
Much of the credit for this fantastic attendance must go to The TNS Community Foundation team, which have been working hard in the local community over the past six months. It appears that the rewards are starting to show.
Ian Williams, Chief Operating Officer at TNS FC confirmed, ‘We have worked extremely hard over the past few seasons to increase attendances at Park Hall and Sunday’s game was an example of our football family coming together to support the team. I’m particularly pleased and encouraged by the number of academy players and their families that are coming to our games this season.’
The support of the TNS Academy has also been a vital part of this trend and it is refreshing to see so many young children supporting The Saints. The newly created Hospitality Suite has also been a welcome addition to the match day experience with an increasing number of businesses already taking advantage of the facilities.
Williams added, ‘Our new hospitality package and match day promotions with The New Saints Foundation team are also helping to increase numbers and we will continue to think of new innovative ideas to encourage even more to attend games. We have also had amazing feedback from new supporters of the club this season. Our challenge now is to build on this whilst continuing to encourage more young supporters and their families to support the club.’
The Saints’ social media presence is also increasing with TNS now having just under 5000 Twitter followers. The club also have just over 8000 Facebook likes.
