With The New Saints currently topping the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League table, there was more good news this week after a number of Academy players have been called up to a Welsh training camp and an English FA Schools squad respectively.
James Jones, Andy Wycherley and James Papirnyk have all been called up to the Welsh training camp which will be held in Swansea this weekend.
Both Ryan Pryce and Andy Wycherley have been selected for the last 32 of the English Schools FA squad.
All of the players are members of Steve Evans’ Academy squad which recently beat Gap Connah’s Quay in the FAW Welsh Youth Cup.
Evans’ Saints will take on Cardiff City in the Quarter Final of the Youth Cup, having reached the final last year.
Evans was proud of his players and added, ‘I am really happy for the lads to be called up. They have been brilliant with me and just like the rest of the squad, they have all worked hard. They must keep pushing the boundaries and continue to work harder to ensure that they carry on developing their skills.’
