The New Saints extended their lead at the top of the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League table after a 1-0 win over Bala Town at Park Hall Stadium.
Alex Darlington scored the only goal of the game in the first half with a great finish from just inside the box.
The Saints dominated the early possession but it was the visitors who had the first chance of the game. Ian Sheridan was played in but smashed his shot over from a tight angle.
Moments later Jamie Mullan dribbled into the box before shooting wide with Ashley Morris beaten.
Midway through the first half, the tricky winger then went ever closer. Having skipped past a couple of Bala defenders, his curling shot skimmed the post as Morris scrambled to his right.
Mike Wilde then wasted a great chance to put his side in front after driving his shot wide with only the Bala goalkeeper to beat.
However, with ten minutes to play in the first half, Wilde played in Darlington who fantastically sorted out his feet and fired into the bottom corner to give The Saints the lead.
The second half started with a chance for Adrian Cieslewicz but his header whistled past the post as Craig Harrison’s side looked for a second goal.
Harrison sent on Scott Quigley in search for the second goal and his cross was nearly met by Wilde but the ball flew out for a goal kick as TNS continued to dominate possession.
With only ten minutes remaining, Mark Connolly attempted an ambitious shot from around 30 yards out which only just went over the bar, as Bala looked to grab a point.
The Lakesiders applied some late pressure but TNS maintained their advantage and picked up another three points.
