The New Saints continued their unbeaten run in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League after beating Cefn Druids 4-0 at The Rock.
A brace from Greg Draper and goals from Connell Rawlinson and Adrian Cieslewicz sealed the victory for Craig Harrison’s Saints.
With the wet and windy conditions affecting the game, Cieslewicz managed to pick out Aeron Edwards with a delightful ball but unfortunately the TNS number 23, shot straight into the side netting.
Midway through the first half, Draper tried his luck from the edge of the box but Dave Roberts was able to keep it out as the pitch became ever harder to play passing football on.
Simon Spender and Ryan Pryce both had attempts at goal but couldn’t find a way past Roberts in the Druids goal.
The second half started with an early goal from Draper. A great cross from the impressive Jamie Mullan was met by the TNS number nine, who managed to head the ball past Roberts to give his side the lead.
The prolific forward then completed his brace in the 56th minute with another neat header. Spender’s cross found Draper in space and he calmly headed into the far corner to double The Saints’ advantage.
With just over an hour played Lee Healey raced through on goal but wasted a great opportunity for his side. The striker shot wide from the edge of the box as Paul Harrison began to close him down.
The Saints then won a free kick on the edge of the box and Chris Seargeant stepped up. The former Everton man managed to superbly curl the ball over the bar but his shot bounced against the bar and went over with Roberts helpless.
With 20 minutes left to play, Rawlinson bundled in the third goal to virtually guarantee the three points for his team.
Edwards and Spender both had shots on target as the game became really stretched before Harrison sent on Scott Quigley Matty Williams, and Alex Darlington in search for the fourth goal.
The Saints retained possession during the last ten minutes and finished the game off, when Cieslewicz found the bottom corner to ensure a comfortable four nil victory.
