The New Saints of Oswestry Town beat Vanarama Conference side Wrexham by three goals to one in a behind closed doors friendly at Park Hall Stadium this afternoon.
Goals from Alex Darlington, Mike Wilde and Scott Quigley ensured that Craig Harrison’s side came from a goal down to win three one against a Wrexham side that contained four first team players.
The Saints, who played different teams in each half controlled large periods of the game and could have won by more goals but missed two penalties during the ninety minutes.
The visitors, who were watched by Manager Kevin Wilkin and TNS loanee Sam Finley, opened the scoring moments after Darlington had his penalty saved. However, the TNS number 20 managed to get on the score sheet within minutes after firing in an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box to level the match.
TNS then took the lead on the stroke of half time when Wilde powered into the box before slotting in from close range.
The second half began with Ryan Fraughan missing the chance to extend the lead after his penalty went over the bar.
With only two minutes remaining, Greg Draper rounded the Wrexham goalkeeper before setting up Quigley who converted from two yards out to give The Saints a 3-1 victory.
