The New Saints of Oswestry Town can clinch the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League title this weekend by picking up a point against Bala Town.
The Saints are currently top with 67 points, 17 points clear of second placed Bala Town and with only six WPL fixtures to play, a solitary point will ensure a ninth League Championship for TNS.
TNS boss, Craig Harrison will be hoping to secure a fourth consecutive Welsh Premier League Championship after guiding the Oswestry based club to three titles over the past three years.
The former Barclays Premier defender said, ‘We have been fantastic all season and I am delighted that we have the chance to win it on Saturday! The players have been brilliant since I first came to the club and I feel that we are as strong as we have ever been, which has been proven by the results.’
Harrison, who has so far guided TNS to three WPL titles, two FAW Welsh Cups and a Welsh league Cup during his time at Park Hall Stadium is also hoping to become the second manager in Welsh Premier League history to manage an unbeaten team for an entire season, ‘I have been very pleased with our performances all season and to get this close to be undefeated for an entire campaign is extremely pleasing but there is still a lot of hard work to do.’
TNS have twice before won the League for three years on the spin but as of yet have never won it for four successive years. All this looks set to change this season and maybe a matter of when not if.
The Saints are also in the FAW Welsh Cup Semi-Final and have already picked up the Word Cup after beating Bala in the Final back in January.
