The New Saints of Oswestry Town will take on Airbus UK in the Semi-Final of FAW Welsh Cup at Newtown’s Latham Park.
The Cup tie will take place on Sunday the 5th of April and will kick off at 12:45pm and will be live on S4C.
The Saints knocked out Gap Connah’s Quay in the FAW Welsh Cup Quarter Final thanks to a Scott Quigley goal in the first half.
Airbus reached the Semi after beating Aberystwyth Town in a dramatic penalty shoot out after the sides had drawn the game at Park Avenue.
The FAW’s Head of Competitions, Andrew Howard, said: “It was a difficult decision for the FAW to choose the host venues, as there were many viable options in the localities which would have been suitable.
“We consulted with the Groundstaff at Cefn Druids and they have committed to providing us with a surface that will do justice to the occasion. The facility at Newtown is outstanding for the live Semi-Final, so with one grass pitch and one synthetic turf pitch, we have the best of both worlds for a fantastic weekend of Welsh Cup action.”
Sgorio presenter Nicky John added: “The Welsh Cup has provided us with some fantastic ties so far this season and I think it’s safe to say we can look forward to more of the same in the Semi-Finals.
“Deciding on our live game was difficult but The New Saints v Airbus UK Broughton really whets the appetite.
“We’re well aware of TNS’s treble ambitions, but, as we saw in their recent live league match, Airbus are a team that can really give the Saints a run for their money.”
