The New Saints Ladies continued their 100% league record after beating Coventrians Ladies at Park Hall Stadium thanks to a goal from Laura Morris and a brace from Emily Ridge.
The Saints looked to continue their run of good form after a 4-0 win away at Knowle last weekend.
The Saints got off to a good start after just seven minutes after Morris broke free of the defence, and slotted it passed the goalkeeper into the bottom corner of the net.
Ridge then doubled the lead after twenty one minutes, taking the ball passed a couple of defenders and lobbed the goalkeeper from just outside of the box.
The Saints were in control and just after the half hour mark added their third. A mix up between the Coventrians defender and goalkeeper saw Ridge nip in to tap the ball into the empty net.
The second half had little to offer, with the Saints controlling the match.
Coventrians Ladies had it all to do but were unable to test Charlotte Edmunds in the Saints goal as they coasted to victory.
Manager Joe Thompson commented on the game saying, “A wins a win at the end of the day, we didn’t score as many as we have in previous games but that doesn’t reflect the performance. We knew it was going to be a closer game than our last meeting as they have won two on the bounce and are looking to move off the bottom of the league.”
The New Saints Ladies will travel next Sunday to the league leaders with both teams currently undefeated this season.
