As games go this was one of the best the boys have played this year especially considering the calibre of opponent who were Liverpool u9 academy….

This was an end of season treat for working hard and progressing well so far….

But the saints saw it as a chance to see how far they had come and were right up for it from the off, storming into a 2 nil lead first through jazz finishing off a speculative long range free kick from Adam Tun, who has to be said was just getting his range because the second was one hell of a strike from the midfielder from the same distance to put the boys into a commanding lead…

Soon Liverpool showed their own quality by pulling back the game and then roaring into a 5-2 lead although 2 of the goals will be the luckiest you’ll ever see….but footy is a game where you make your own luck.

Not disheartened the Saints weren’t about to throw in the towel and came back through Josh Evans with a great team goal and Dan Burnett cooly slotting home to bring the score back to 5-4 the last 20 mins the saints were in full control of the game with a couple of glorious chances going begging from Adam tun and Josh Evans, who on the day wouldn’t of looked out of place playing in red themselves….The killer punch came right at the end with the saints pushing for the equaliser got caught on the break and conceded the 6….

Take nothing away from the boys in green this was a top game and the boys showed great desire and work their socks off for each other which enabled them to play some very attractive football at times with slick passing and moving and some superb finishing to top off a quality performance well done gents.
