The New Saints finished off the 2014/2015 Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League with a draw against Bala Town at Maes Tegid.
Former TNS midfielder Conall Murtagh headed in to give the home side the lead but a second half Jamie Reed goal cancelled it out and ensured that the points were shared
The home side began well and within the first five minutes opened the scoring. Ian Sheridan capitalised on a defensive error at the back and fired under Chris Mullock to give The Lakesiders the lead.
Bala continued to push forward and midway through the first half could have doubled the lead but Lee Hunt’s shot dribbled inches wide.
Ten minutes before the break, Kieran Smith unleased a brilliant shot that crashed against the post with Mullock beaten.
The second half began with Connall Murtagh heading against the bar after TNS had failed to clear a set piece.
The Saints continued to grow into the game and were level just before the hour. A great ball from Chris Seargeant ended up at Reed’s feet and the powerful forward smashed in from four yards out.
Aeron Edwards, Matty Williams and Scott Quigley all came on in search of the winning goal but with five minutes left, Bala substitute Mike Hayes beat Mullock to the ball but his shot from 30 yards out went inches over the bar.
The final minutes of the game were played out with no chances and the draw ensured that Bala Town finished in second position and therefore will play in the UEFA Europa League next season.
