B36 Preview

The New Saints will take on B36 Torshavn in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round.

The match will kick off at 19:00pm, with the game being played in the capital, Torshavn.

Craig Harrison is feeling confident that his side can leave the Faroe Islands with a positive result, ‘We must make sure that we get a result as opposed to just a good performance. The lads have been working extremely hard and as a team, we are very confident that we can really achieve something special this time around. B36 will pose a threat to us but I’ve got a fantastic squad of players that I believe and trust in.’

Harrison added, ‘We have the quality to hopefully get us into the second round and further. To be playing in the Champions League is very special.’

TNS winger, Adrian Cieslewicz will not only be set to clash with his former club but also his brother, Lukasz. The pair, 24 and 27, were born in Poland but grew up in the Faroes.

Having flown to the Faroe Islands on Monday, Harrison’s team are preparing themselves for the game and will have a training session at the Torsvollar Stadium tonight (Tuesday).

Nicknamed ‘The White Tigers’ the club was founded in 1936 and are currently top of the Faroe Islands Premier League.
