Rev's Ramblings

Champions League football continues to dominate proceedings at The New Saints and this week’s Rev’s Ramblings is no different. Following a couple of great results against B36 Torshavn though it was a different ball game against our Hungarian opponents last Tuesday.

Videoton came to Park Hall with a European pedigree of their own that includes reaching the UEFA Cup final. However, that was thirty years ago, and in the big scheme of things it’s not the past that counts but the present.

That’s why, forever the optimist, I’m still believing that we can overturn the 0-1 Park Hall deficit and find ourselves in the hat for the next round draw. I’ve been a football fan for six decades and know that anything, within reason, is possible. Coming back from 1-0 down ticks both boxes. It is within reason and it’s possible.

By the time you read this blog entry we will either be on the road or in the air. Or possibly waiting at the airport of course.

It’s an early start for everyone, especially for me as I travel from the Wolverhampton area. My alarm will be set for 5.00 am but let’s face it, travelling on a Champions League adventure with TNS is not exactly a hardship is it.

It was great to have The New Saints’ Ladies manager, Joe Thompson, on TNS Radio last week. Following on from Steven Matthews and Albert Gardner the week before, we’ve got off to a good start as far as sit-in guests are concerned.

If you fancy being on air with us, let me know. And talking of TNS Radio, we’re back this Wednesday with second-leg coverage from Hungary. We’ll be kicking off the show from 7.00pm UK time with the game set for a 7.30pm start.

The link is on the TNS website and I’m looking forward to having Sam Thomas back after his vacation. Mind, although it was just the basic set-up, I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to get it going on my own. A man of many talents!

Anyway, we look forward to your company on Wednesday. Don’t forget to let us have your prediction for the match and send us your tweets for a shout-out. Due to the volume that the TNS account picks up during games tweet my personal account @TheAnglingRev so I don’t miss them. Thanks.
