Caernarfon Edge Out The Saints

Dafabet Welsh Premier League Champions The New Saints lost to Caernarfon in an enthralling friendly at The Oval.

Two late goals from Adrian Cieslewicz and Scott Quigley nearly levelled the match after TNS had found themselves three nil down after 46 minutes.

Jamie Breeze scored an early goal from a tight angle after only three minutes.

Steve Evans then shot wide moments later.

Midway through the first half Nathan Craig smashed over from 25 yards out.

Soon after Quigley and Alex Darlington both shot wide but then Jamie McDaid added another for the home side. A deflected goal beat Wycherly to give the home side a two goal lead at the half time break.

The second half began with James Jones finding the back of his own net after mishitting a back pass towards Wycherley.

With TNS having the majority of the ball, the Caernarfon defence were holding strong with both Darlington and Quigley both shooting wide.

Ryan Kershaw then struck the post as TNS continued to dominate the game but couldn’t find

With only ten minutes to play Cieslewicz pulled a goal back after smashing in an unstoppable strike from just outside the box.

Quigley then headed in The Saints’ second goal in the final minute of the game, however the referee blew the full time whistle moments later to ensure a victory for the home side.
