Over 100 children, young people and their families joined in the TNS Foundation’s second Playday at The Venue on the 7th of August). On offer were free fun football, hula hooping, tennis, dodgeball, volleyball, giant feet, jenga, spacehopper, family rounders, ‘big feet’, bowling and soft play activities. Organiser, Naomi Stocker said “As well as a celebration of children’s right to play, Playday is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives. We’re delighted with the turnout today – we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. The activities just give a taste of the type of activities the Foundation can offer at The Venue, and out in the community”.
Over the next few weeks, the Foundation, with the support of STAR housing, 3 Parishes Big Local and West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, will be offering free multi-sport activities in a number of villages. Details are as follows: Gobowen Playing Fields (Mondays, 3pm – 4pm), Weston Rhyn Playing Field (Wednesdays, 3pm – 4pm) and St Martins Playing Field (Fridays 3pm – 4pm). Come along and join in the fun!
