New Slot for Sgorio

Sgorio, S4C’s popular football programme, is back this week on a new day and at a new time – Saturday at 4.45 – and the first live game from the Dafabet Welsh Premier League will be one for the history books.

On the opening day of the season, Sgorio cameras will be at Parc MBi Maesdu, Llandudno as MBi Llandudno play their first-ever match in Wales’ top football league. Their opponents will be Aberystwyth, one of the biggest teams in the Welsh Premier League.

Dylan Ebenezer, Nicky John, Nic Parry, Malcom Allen and Owain Tudur Jones will provide presentation and analysis with Mark Jones and Tomi Morgan bringing us English language commentary on the red button service.

Though they’ve been battling over several years to get into the Premiership, Llandudno only succeeded in doing so last season winning the Huws Gray Alliance under the leadership of former Aberystwyth manager Alan Morgan.

Alan Morgan has been very active over the summer bringing in several players with experience of the Welsh Premier League as well as Football League and Conference level.

Dylan Ebenezer says: “Llandudno’s main aim this season will be to consolidate and retain their place in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League. They will be aiming for a perfect start as they host Aberystwyth on the 3G pitch.

“Their supporters know that the black and whites will have to be at their defensive best if they are to stop the goal-scoring threat of the League’s top scorer for the last two seasons, Chris Venables, who’s been joined in the Aber forward line during the summer by another goal-machine in the prolific Rhys Griffiths.

“Personally, I’m delighted to be back presenting Sgorio on a Saturday afternoon at the time when all the afternoon’s football results come rushing in,” said Dylan.

With kick-off at 5.15, Sgorio will bring you all the afternoon’s key football results as well as goal highlights from the Friday derby clash between Rhyl and Bangor, before the focus turns to history in the making in Llandudno.
