The New Saints Ladies Football Club can confirm the signing of former Everton and Lee University striker, Charlotte Canlett.
Canlett previously played for The New Saints Ladies before having a spell with Everton and five years in the States playing for Lee University.
Charlotte had a few problems with injury in the states but was still able to cement herself a semi pro deal in the USA, being described as having “unmatched ability” by one of her former coaches. Charlotte scored four goals when Lee University beat Shorter University 10-1 and has been part of the championship winning side. The former Oswestry School girl, returns to the Saints joining Joe Thompson’s side who have just restarted their league campaign.
Manager Joe Thompson commented on the singing by stating, “We are pleased to announce a signing, who’s talent we are looking forward to seeing back at Park Hall. She has an amazing amount of experience and has played for some top clubs and universities before. She has fitted in well so far with the squad we have, adding depth to an already very good squad”.
Charlotte Canlett could feature on Sunday in the FA Cup first qualifying tie away at Knowle ladies, with the Saints now waiting league registration papers having received her International Clearance this week.
