The North Shropshire college side were in action this week and took on Newcastle-Under-Lyme in the National Cup.
A very good first round win ensured that North Shropshire College defeated Newcastle Under Lyme College 3-2. With only 10 minutes gone NSC could have been 4-0 up having not taken their chances. A good bit of passage play from Wycherley to Perry and a long ball by Papirnyk saw Tom Ash slide his effort into the corner to put NSC 1-0 up. NUL got back into the game with a scrappy goal with their direct play being effective. Lovely work by Lee Killen saw a square ball to Aron Jones who tapped in from a yard out. NSC controlled the game and got the 3rd goal with an excellent team goal scored by Farleigh completely killed the game off. With 1 minute to go NUL scored a scrappy goal but it was too much to late and NSC progressed into the next round.

The E2 side played Sandwell at Park Hall Stadium and lost 3-2.
Having started off well with Joey converting into the top corner to put us 1-0 up, the visitors quickly equalised with a long ball which was flicked on and they scored first time in the box. Aidan played through Joey on goal who scored once again into the top corner. This put us 2-1 up going into the second half. They scored early in the second half to equalise with a long range shot lobbing the keeper. In the last minute we won a penalty after Joey was brought down in the box. The penalty was then missed which allowed the opposition to break and win a free kick on the edge of the box which one of their players converted into the bottom corner giving them the 3-2 win.

The other fixture for the E2 side was against Walsall and the match finished in a 2-2 draw. E2 vs Walsall
The game started reasonably well with TNS keeping possession of the ball well however Walsall pressed well.
TNS took the lead in the first half with well connected volley from Andy Vale to make the score 1-0 coming in to the second half the game was slightly scrappy in the middle of the park. Second half the game started well once again with both teams keeping possession of the team however TNS made another goal difference with a nicely finished goal inside the box from Joe Sullivan to make the score 2-0 to TNS. Walsall started to add pressure onto the TNS goal keeper making saves left right and centre however Walsall got a corner scoring from a good delivery leaving the TNS goal keeper still in his goal with the score 2-1. Walsall kept playing the ball long making themselves an aerial threat picking of any scraps managing to score a late and lucky to with a miss understanding between the TNS goal keeper and centre back leaving the Walsall striker able to knock the ball round the keeper leaving the game to finish 2-2. Overall a positive first half, whereby in all honesty the game should have been put to bed, but failure to convert chances, resulted in 2 dropped points.
