The New Saints advanced into theWord Cup third round after beating Holywell Town by seven goals to one at Park Hall Stadium.
Goals from Alex Darlington and Scott Quigley added to a wonderful five goal haul from man of the match Greg Draper.
TNS began well and nearly opened the scoring but headed over after latching on to an Alex Darlington corner in the opening five minutes.
However, a defensive mistake left Graeme Williams with an open goal from just inside the box and the Holywell Town number 11 curled it in to give his side a shock lead.
Despite going behind, TNS continued to pass and were level within ten minutes. A great cross from Chris Marriott was converted by Draper to level the game.
TNS then took the lead midway through the half after Darlington capitalised on a loose ball in the box and finished with aplomb.
In first half stoppage time, Draper completed his brace by calmly slotting the ball in past Mike Platt after a brilliant ball by Darlington.
The Saints controlled the game in the second half but with an hour gone, Brett Cotton found himself unmarked in the box but headed over.
Draper then completed his wonderful hat-trick with the best goal of the game. The TNS number 9 flicked the ball up and smashed the volley into the top corner to complete his hat-trick leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Seconds later and the prolific Draper added his fourth of the night. The striker shot from the edge of the box and the ball flew into the bottom corner after a wicked deflection sent the Holywell ‘keeper the wrong way.
Amazingly, minutes later, Draper smashed in his fifth goal of the game to give TNS a 6-1 lead. A superb ball from substitute Ryan Edwards picked out Draper who fired in from close range.
With only minutes to play, Chris Marriott’s powerful free kick struck the post as TNS nearly made it seven.
The seventh did eventually come thanks to substitute Scott Quigley’s powerful strike from the edge of the box.
