The New Saints Ladies had derby day delight, as Toran Kelly fired five goals past Whitchurch Alport at Yockings Park.
The Saints Reserves were playing just their second competitive match together. Nisa Mendez once again captained the side as the most senior ladies player on the team. Toran Kelly also made her second start after rejoining from Wrockwardine Wood Ladies in the summer.
The Saints started well and soon found them selves ahead. A great through ball as Toran Kelly found her self one versus one against the goalkeeper. She coolly slotted home to gain her first goal after her return to the club. Kelly soon added her second, again some good play saw her break free of the defence to fire past the goalkeeper. She then completed her hatrick, this time from the penalty spot, giving the Whitchurch goalkeeper no chance of saving her shot. The Saints rounded up their first half rout, Toran Kelly again won a one versus one battle against the goalkeeper to see the Saints go into the break 4-0 up.
The second half saw a much slower game of football, the Saints looked to get more goals after their first half scoring spree but found it difficult to break down the Alpot resilient defence. Eventually a good passage of play from the Saints saw Toran Kelly round off the scoring and her fifth goal of the afternoon.
The Saints have gained their first victory as a competitive side and now face Kidsgrove away next weekend.
