The New Saints Ladies returned to winning ways as they put seven past Kinghurst Sporting at Park Hall.
The Saints player their first home game in the league since the opening day win against Walsall Ladies.The Saints took the lead though Sophie Davies, who beat the keeper from inside the area. Leading scorer Emily Ridge then added the Saints second of the game. Ridge broke away before slotting under the goalkeeper. She then added a third for the Saints, adding her twelfth goal of the season to her tally, before Laura Morris Rounded off the scoring for the Saints in the first half.
The Saints started the second half even brighter than the first and within a minute they had the fifth goal of the game. Emily Ridge firing past the Kingshurst goalkeeper. Stacey Garnham then added the Saints sixth before Sarah Burke rounded off the scoring for the Saints. The visitors pulled a goal back but it would merely be a consolation goal.
Saints boss Joe Thompson commented, “What a difference a week makes. The most complete team performance I think I’ve had since being here. We defended well and going forward we were a joy to watch”.
“We were unplayable at time, frighteningly quick and when you keep the ball as well as we did today, on a pitch that size, you make your life so much easier”.
The Saints host Knowle Ladies next Sunday at Park Hall Stadium, 2pm kick off.
