Jamie Mullan’s late goal against Port Talbot won the game for The New Saints of Oswestry Town on Sunday and the dynamic winger was delighted to have grabbed the winner for his side.
Speaking about the goal, Mullan said, ‘The goalkeeper punched the ball out and I managed to get on the end of it. I then smashed it across the goal and it has managed to make its way past everyone so I am delighted.’
The former Fleetwood man also admitted that it has been a frustrating season so far, ‘It has been a bit of a stop start season for me but hopefully I have got the injuries behind me and I am happy to be back playing.’
Mullan, who joined The Saints in 2013, also spoke about the competition in the squad and said, ‘We have a good squad here and if someone comes into the side, they are just as good as the person that they have replaced. I think it is good to have competition for places and it helps the lads kick on.’
