Rev's Ramblings – Podcasts, Town Tours and Radio Shows

I hope you’re enjoying The New Saints Radio Football Show, to give it its full title. Or just podcast for short. Have you listened to the latest, which is episode twelve? It features Keith Weaver, Craig Harrison, Scott Quigley, Jamie Mullan and Ian Williams.

There is a ‘podcast’ link on the club website and along with the previous eleven, you can access it on there. In the current one, TNS’ Chief Operating Officer plays school-master and gives a mid-term report as the season hits the half-way mark.

Out in Oswestry town centre this week, with Sam Thomas, we visited shops and businesses as part of the #TNSTownTour. (Yes, lots of hashtags at TNS). Again, the responses were excellent and if you’ve been out and about yourself, you may have seen the fruit of our labour in the form of posters on display.

We take photographs of the places we visit and post them on both the TNS Twitter and Facebook accounts. If you’re in the area and would like a visit then get in touch. There’s no catch, the club is genuinely just looking to build relationships in the local community.

Talking of local links, the work that TNS Foundation does is truly impressive. Every day there’s something going on in the community. If you’re not aware of the depth of output then follow the Foundation on Twitter and keep up to date with the amazing stuff they do.

If you’re a regular listener to TNS Radio then you’ll know one of the features in the show is #BeatTheBelle. Cortez, legend on the pitch but still to get one right in two seasons off it, gives us his prediction.

It is then opened up for anyone to join in, hence the question is asked, can you #BeatTheBelle? The final scores of late have been such that winners have been few and far between. However, well done to Pete Farmer who went for Port Talbot Town 0 TNS 1.

Cortez, by the way, went for 1-3 which of course was a good guess. It’s not as easy as it sounds getting one right. In a typical round of predictions, we had thirteen possible scores covered, ranging from 3-2 to the Steelmen through 6-0 to The Saints.

Why not have a go yourself? Get it right and you’ll get a mention in this column. Look out for the tweets on the TNS account or alternatively just email me your prediction at stewart.bloor@tnsfc.co.uk. By the way, it’s Aberystwyth this weekend in the Welsh Cup and Cortez goes 3-1 to TNS. Can you #BeatTheBelle?

Finally, just the one game this week as TNS entertained Airbus UK in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League. The visitors battled but what a great performance from the home side. It was great to have Clint Jones on air with us again on TNS Radio.

That’s his third visit so far this season, which is why I called him the boomerang man. He keeps coming back. This Saturday afternoon (December 5) TNS take on Aberystwyth at Park Hall. Fancy sitting in on the show? Send me an email and we’ll organise it.
