The New Saints club legend Scott Ruscoe was inducted into the Dafabet Welsh Premier League Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, after being surprised live on S4C before Saturday’s match against Airbus at Park Hall.
The retired player has made over 400 appearances for TNS since signing for the club in 2002 and has scored 73 times. Since then he’s gone on to become Head of Youth and Assistant Manager of the first team after completing both his A License and A Youth awards.
As a player, Ruscoe started his career at Stoke City, moving to Port Vale, Newtown and Chester City, before making his move to The New Saints in 2001, where he has remained ever since. He was previously team captain and has made a WPL record 30 appearances in Europe.
Ruscoe has won the League title eight times, the Welsh Cup four times and the League Cup five times.
Sgorio’s Nicky John and fellow member of the WPL Hall of Fame Steve Evans made the presentation to Ruscoe who was ‘Shocked… honoured and very proud’ to be recognised.
