The New Saints of Oswestry Town advanced into the fourth round of the JD FAW Welsh Cup after beating Aberytwyth Town 3-0 at a windy Park Hall Stadium.
An own goal from Mike Lewis gave TNS an early lead before goals from Scott Quigley and Matty Williams secured the tie for The Saints.
TNS began well and took an early lead when a dangerous corner from Chris Marriott ended up with Lewis heading the ball into his own goal to give TNS a perfect start to the game.
Chris Seargeant then had his shot saved as TNS pushed forward in search of another goal.
The former Everton man then had a powerful strike from the edge of the box which Quigley managed to deflect in past Lewis to give The Saints a two goal lead
The second half began with Paul Harrison’s wonderful save keeping out a Chris Venables header to keep the two goal cushion.
However, with twenty minutes to play, Williams effectively secured the tie with a close range header after being picked out by Jamie Mullan.
Moments later, Quigley fired in but the goal was disallowed for offside.
TNS dominated the rest of the game and safely went into the fourth round having won the game 3-0.
