Bala Peg Back Saints and Clinch Draw

The New Saints of Oswestry Town and Bala Town played out a 1-1 draw at Park Hall Stadium in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League.

The Saints took the lead in the 13th minute when Aeron Edwards’ cross found a way past Ashely Morris and landed in the top corner to give TNS a perfect start.

Ten minutes later and Bala had a chance to level but Lee Hunt’s header went inches over the bar.

Minutes later and Paul Harrison was forced into action after Ian Sheridan broke clear but the TNS Captain was alert enough to keep the ball out.

Five minutes into the second half Bala levelled the match. Rob Pearson found space in the box and drilled his low shot past Harrison to equalise.

Hunt then headed inches wide as Bala managed to counter with TNS pushing forward.

Adrian Cieslewicz then had a powerful shot glide just wide of the post as Craig Harrison’s side continued to look for the winning goal.

Substitute Scott Quigley then had a glorious chance but his shot rolled just wide of the post with Morris beaten.

TNS continued to push forward but were unable to find the winner and had to settle for a point against a plucky Bala side.
