The New Saints of Oswestry Town failed to gain revenge against gap Connah’s Quay at Park Hall Stadium tonight in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League .
Craig Harrison’s Saints dominated possession throughout the contest but were unable to break down a resolute Nomads defence as the match finished goalless.
The Saints began well and nearly went in front after 20 minutes when Mike Wilde’s header flew inches wide of the post with John Danby beaten.
Les Davies went close for the visitors soon after as the game began to open up.
The second half began with The Saints once again controlling the tempo but unable to find a way through.
Chris Seargeant and Aeron Edwards both shot wide as TNS began to throw men forward.
With twenty minutes left TNS twice put the ball into the back of the net but on both occasions the goal was ruled out for offside.
TNS continued to look for the winner but it never came as Andy Morrison’s side held on for an unlikely point.
