The New Saints of Oswestry Town will take on old foes Barry Town tomorrow at Jenner Park in the Fourth Round of the JD FAW Welsh Cup.
The famous rivalry has thrown up many famous incidents and games including the 1996 Welsh Cup Final when TNS (then named Llansantffraid FC) beat Barry Town 3-2 on penalties after an incident packed 3-3 draw in Cardiff.
A 10 thrashing from Barry Town in 1997 was nearly avenged by a 3-2 FAW Premier Cup win in 2001 but the match was controversially abandoned by the referee.
Barry Town have won the Welsh Cup on six occasions, most recently in 2003. The Saints however, have won the Welsh Cup five times and will be hoping to lift it for a third year running after success in 2014 and 2015.
In the third round of this year’s competition, TNS knocked out Aberystwyth Town, whereas Barry defeated theWord Cup runners up Denbigh Town.
The New Saints will go into the game with latest signing Ryan Brobbel available and only Alex Darlington ruled out with injury.
The tie of the round will also be live on S4C and will kick off at 17:15pm.
