A reunion for ex-managers, players and fans from the old Oswestry Town FC has been hailed a success, after attracting around 100 guests.
The event, organised by The New Saints of Oswestry Town marked the end of a month-long campaign, supported by the Advertizer, celebrating the heritage of Oswestry Town FC, which was merged with Llansantffraid side Total Network Solutions in 2003. Both sides are now represented by The New Saints of Oswestry Town at their Park Hall stadium.
Guests enjoyed a two-course meal and were entertained by ex-Oswestry Town Secretary and BBC Radio Shropshire Presenter James Bond, followed by watching the Saints play Airbus later that afternoon.
The New Saints Chairman Mike Harris commented: “We were really pleased with the turn out. This event was about celebrating the history of The New Saints, we’re very proud to represent Oswestry Town and would like to think we’ve done the town proud with our achievements since the merger.”
