The New Saints progressed into the Semi-Final of the JD FAW Welsh Cup after a 1-0 victory against Newtown at Park Hall Stadium.
Jamie Mullan’s goal in the eighth minute was the difference between the sides.
TNS began well and Aeron Edwards headed against the post midway through the half as TNS controlled the majority of the play in the first period.
TNS continued to dominate in the second half and Chris Seargeant’s wonderful long range effort thundered off the bar before Draper’s close range flick struck the post.
The Saints continued to retain possession and nearly doubled the lead late on when substitute Mike Wilde found space in the box but his header was parried by Dave Jones.
In what proved to be the last action of the game, Matty Cook found space inside the box but his shot trickled inches wide of the post.
Full time: TNS 1-0 Newtown.
