The New Saints of Oswestry Town remain nine points clear in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League after a hard fought 0-0 draw against Bala Town at Maes Tegid.
TNS began well and dominated the early stages of the game with both Mike Wilde and Scott Quigley shooting wide from inside the box.
Twenty minutes into the game, Lee Hunt’s header trickled jut wide as Bala tried to break the deadlock.
Midway through the half, Wilde found space on the edge of the box and his excellent strike curled inches wide of the top corner.
The Saints continued to dominate the game and nearly took the lead when Chris Seargeant’s free kick struck the post but the ball bounced clear.
Minutes before the half time whistle, Mike Hayes broke clear but was denied by a brilliant save from Paul Harrison.
The second half began with the home side going close but Anthony Stephens’ header flew with after a scramble in the box.
On the hour mark, Chris Marriott’s excellent cross was met by Wilde who headed against the post as TNS once again took control of the game.
Ten minutes later and Ian Sheridan struck the post from a tight angle after TNS failed to clear a Mark Connolly free kick.
Both sides pushed forward in search of a winner but the match ended in a draw.
