An Oswestry Charity is celebrating after becoming the proud owners of a penalty shoot-out inflatable which will be used for community events in the area.
The New Saints FC Foundation, a charity set up to provide sports and educational activities to young people in and around Oswestry, will be testing out the inflatable for the first time this Easter as part of the Foundation’s free holiday sports activities, in conjunction with Shropshire Council Local Joint Committees .
Friday 1st April – Weston Rhyn Recreation Ground 2-4pm
Monday 4th April – Trefonen Village Hall and Playing Fields 10am – 12noon
Tuesday 5th April – Morda Playing Fields 2pm-4pm
Wednesday 6th April – St Martins Playing Fields and Centre 2pm – 4pm
Thursday 7th April – Gobowen Playing Fields 2pm – 4pm
Friday 8th April – Llanymynech Village Hall and Playing Fields 1.30pm-3.30pm
The free two hour sessions are open to young people aged 10-18 years-old and will include a range of activities, including basketball, football, tennis, rounders, rugby and golf.
The inflatable, purchased with contributions from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, Shropshire Community Fund and Lloyds Bank Community Awards, will be used for community events and school provision, as well as match days at The Venue at Park Hall.
Foundation Officer Gill Jones said: “This is a tremendous addition to the Foundation’s resources. We are extremely grateful for the support of those who have contributed to help us purchase it – and are now keen that it should be used by as many young people as possible.”
