Today (Monday, August 14 2017), courtesy of a meeting at Park Hall, we are proud to unveil our new Futsal team. Flying The TNS flag in the FAW Elite Futsal League, the side will be playing their home games at Wrexham’s Glyndŵr University.
TNS already has history in the game and has the honour of being the first Welsh team to play in Europe. Today’s announcement aims to build on the success of the past as we look to the future.
We interviewed the group of players that were at Park Hall earlier today and you can listen to that via the video below.
Along with Jason Brindley (far left) and Steve Benyon (far right), the players in the photograph are (l-r) John White, Andy Ratcliffe, David Girvan, Jack Southwell and Brad Miguel.
Our official photographer, Brian Jones, was on hand to capture the group.
We also caught up with TNS’ Chief Operating Officer, Ian Williams, who has been a key figure in the events leading to today’s announcement.
On behalf of the club, Ian expressed his delight, “Everyone at The New Saints is excited about our new Futsal team. Having been approached by Andrew and David a few weeks back, we are delighted that they have come on board.”
With one eye on the upcoming league campaign at the end of September, he concluded that “everyone is looking forward to the start of the new FAW Futsal season.”
