Following Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Deeside, it’s back to Park Hall on Saturday (October 14 2017), when Prestatyn Town are the visitors in MD9 of the JD Welsh Premier League.
As we enter the second quarter of the campaign, TNS sit in second spot just one point off leaders, Bangor City. With just two points separating four teams, it’s very tight at the top.
The Seasiders, although at the opposite end of the table, with nine points from eight games, currently find themselves in a comfortable position as far as the dreaded relegation trapdoor is concerned.
Last Saturday at Bastion Gardens, an important three points against bottom club, Carmarthen Town, saw the comfort zone expand. Incidentally, the scorers for Prestatyn in their 3-2 win were all Jacks – Lewis, Higgins and Kenny.
Talking of threes, Neil Gibson’s squad contains brothers Noah, Zebb and Zyaac Edwards, all siblings of ex-TNS player, Kai Edwards.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, The New Saints’ manager, Scott Ruscoe, recognises the challenge: “Everyone comes to TNS and they want to take a scalp, looking to break our home dominance and knock us off our perch.”
“Prestatyn are a well-organised side, they have a good coach and the players play for him and the club and I’m expecting a tough test.”
We also chatted with Greg Draper, who has found the net in each of the last three games, scoring two goals on each occasion. “We’ll have to be up for the game. They’re a young team, promoted last season, they’ll be up for it but hopefully we’ll be ok.”
We look forward to welcoming you to Park Hall for the 2.30 pm kick-off. If you’re not there in person though, don’t miss out. As always, TNS Radio will be broadcasting live as we bring you commentary and chat during the game. The link is here on the home page of our website.
Admission to Park Hall is £8 / £4 / £1.
