Earlier today, The New Saints of Oswestry Town travelled to the impressive Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground to take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers U23 XI.
Based in the Compton area of the city, the complex is named in honour of the club’s former owner, who sadly passed away in 2015, and was itself open for business in 2005.
FAW rules prevent us from disclosing the score in a behind-closed-doors friendly, plus Wolves themselves had trialists involved that they didn’t want featured in footage or photography.
Scott Ruscoe made numerous changes to the side that beat Prestatyn Town on Saturday in the JD Welsh Premier League, with just two from the starting line-up (Brobbel and Roberts), on the field at the start of play today.
Following the game, while still at Compton, we interviewed the manager along with Callum Jones and Chris Marriott, who both featured in the game.
As stated previously, we were limited in taking photographs. We still managed to capture a few though, check them out HERE.
Finally, many thanks today to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the hospitality and welcome we received.
