Following Tuesday’s 2-0 victory against Caernarfon Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup, it’s back to the bread-and-butter of the JD Welsh Premier League on Saturday (October 28, 2017).
Park Hall hosts the top of the the table clash, as current leaders, The New Saints of Oswestry Town, take on second-placed Cardiff Metropolitan University FC.
Unbeaten since opening day, Scott Ruscoe’s side have now gone nine league games without defeat, while the visitors have lost just two from their ten matches to date.
Speaking to Ruscoe ahead of the game, he is focused on the challenge: “They’ve had a great start to the season and they’re just one point behind. I’ll be telling the lads to give everything; give your all and then hopefully we will see daylight in the table between us and our challengers come Saturday afternoon.”
In fifth place last season come the ‘split’, Cardiff Met went on to collect five points in their final ten games, with just one win. Qualifying for the Europa League playoffs though saw them briefly return to winning ways, courtesy of a 2-1 victory on the road at Carmarthen Town.
The final saw them undertake the long journey to north Wales, where they lost 1-0 to Bangor City. Their first campaign in the JD WPL – although there was one season in the League of Wales under a previous incarnation – was heralded by most pundits as a success and it comes as no real surprise to see their position in the table this time round.
The kick-off on Saturday is 2.30 pm and admission charges are £8 / £4 / £1. You can pay on the turnstile.
The game will also be broadcast live on TNS Radio. The link is here on the home page of our website.
