Following last season’s three consecutive away games in the Irn-Bru Cup, this afternoon three home draws this time round became four. First out in the draw, which was held at Glagow’s SEC Armadillo, was The New Saints, followed by Scottish Championship side, Dumbarton.
Representing the club today was Manager, Scott Ruscoe, and as soon as we arrived in Glasgow we interviewed him about the upcoming draw and a general look back at the game on Sunday just gone against Queen of the South.
Doing the honours today were ladies footballing legend, Julie Fleeting, and ex-pro, Mark Burchill, who is now European scout at English Premier League side, Bournemouth.
Following the draw we again chatted with Scott, this time about the upcoming fixture. The bookies make TNS favourites, not only to win the game, but also to lift the trophy come next March.
Our regular trips north of the English border for the draws (we’ve been involved in seven to date) have also seen us make some really good friendships along the way with those working in Scottish football, as well as those involved with Irn-Bru. It was the latter’s Andrew Boocock who we interviewed following the draw to get his thoughts.
The game against Dumbarton will be played on the weekend of February 17/18 2018 with full details being released once they are confirmed.
