Job Title:                      Goalkeeping Coach

The New Saints FC are seeking to appoint a part time Goalkeeping Coach to support the strategic football development and provide high quality coaching to the First Team, Scholars and Academy.

Reporting to the First Team Manager and Football Department, the post holder will be responsible for planning and delivering goalkeeping sessions each week for the first team, scholars and academy in line with the clubs training cycle as well as working with the First Team Goalkeepers at all games.

With strong leadership and organisational skills in addition to a proven coaching background the candidate will be able to inspire, champion and develop players.  This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the heart of The New Saints FC and have an impact on the development of goalkeepers at the club.

 

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Preferable qualifications: FAW A Licence coaching Goalkeepers or equivalent, DBS, FAW Safeguarding Children workshop completed and FAW Emergency First Aid Certificate
  • Experience/success in preparing adult, youth and academy team goalkeepers for competitive football.
  • Experience of working with Professional players, 16-19 year old players and 6-16 players and having the ability to effectively communicate with such groups.
  • A proven track record of player development.
  • Understanding of sports science into athlete preparation.
  • Understanding of being part of building a winning team culture.
  • Communicating effectively.
  • Knowledge of coaching principles and techniques.

DUTIES

  1. Work closely with the First Team Manager, Youth and Academy Managers to ensure the continuous development of all goalkeepers registered with the Club.
  2. Plan and deliver sessions in accordance with coaching syllabus and maintain accurate records of training in line with requirements of the Football Club.
  3. Create an environment to enhance realistic progress in player development by setting realistic but challenging performance expectations, provides feedback and reinforcement, build confidence.
  4. Support GKs with match reviews to monitor performance, progress and areas for improvement. Report to the Football Department the development and progression of all goalkeepers registered with the club.
  5. Responsible for undertaking all administrative tasks associated with the position such a registers, session planning logs and player appraisals.
  6. Support with recruitment and longer term progression of goalkeepers.
